There has been so much happening in the past few weeks and we are a day away from what may be a very historic moment in American history.

Lets all take a moment to step from the craziness and intensity of all that is happening around us to look within…to connect with spirit within and  say a prayer for our collective good.

Whatever be the outcome of this election…let us remember not to loose hope! For when we loose hope…life is meaningless…when we loose hope life is Meaning Less and Less!

We as humans are habitual beings…most people’s lives are built around habits.

Here are some important tips from Chris and Janet Attwood on ‘What are Success Habits’

• Taking the time daily to review your top five passions
• Choosing in favor of your passions whenever you are faced with a decision
• Taking responsibility for the life you have created
• Taking time daily for prayer and/or meditation
• Getting regular exercise
• Getting adequate rest
• Charitable giving on a regular basis
• Eating healthy food that supports clarity
• Speaking positively and uplifting others through your speech

Scientists have shown that it takes about 21 days to cultivate a new habit…wow..I’m going to try with one at a time…choose one and master it!

I donated blood for
the first time in my life about 6 months ago. It was an amazing
experience..very surreal! It just felt plain and simple
good..Unconditional giving! It was that day that I enrolled in the
“Heroes for Life” program : Heroes for Life Program

15th October is going to be the day I keep my commitment as a
part of becoming a Blood Hero: This will be my third blood donation in
2008.

So lets all get involved….you
just don’t have to give blood to be a blood hero…volunteer at your
local blood bank, or even donate financially.

Lets do all we can, love and live and give unconditionally…there is no better joy than that!

A friend sent me this amazing video which shows us that changing perceptions can cause miracles to happen.

What a great way to start my work week…I use Pandora which is a music recommendation service to listen to music.

Pandora has been recommending songs where the core theme is community and love all day today!

It started with Freddy Mercury’s Time and now Todd Rundgren’s ‘Love is the Answer’!

These words mean so much more to me since I’m coming off  a rather emotional weekend over a relationship that didnt turn out the way I wanted/thought it would turn out to be…and the message that spirit sends to me is once again the same message…

I hope you all are doing great.

Its been over 6 years since I learned Reiki on an amazing sunny July Indian Summer day in New Delhi and what a journey it has been!

Reiki is an amazing energy!! As I look back I can’t help but quote William Lee Rand
`I can clearly see the role it(Reiki) played in placing me firmly on my spiritual path and leading me on a journey into greater levels of peace, happiness, and fulfillment. It has guided me in so many ways, helping me progressively strengthen my connection to the spiritual world as well as develop my ability as a writer, teacher, and healer’

I’m just  starting out as a writer, a teacher and a healer…I’m tickled at the infinite realm of possibilities the future holds!

My parents have been  healers all their life, my dad dedicating his life to saving lives  and my mom hers to bringing new lives into this beautiful world. I’m  blessed and grateful to have the most amazing parents who brought us up with great values, which were so congruent with the Reiki  principles…
Just for today I will not worry,
Just for today I will not be angry,
Just for today I will be filled with gratitude,
Just for today I will do my work honestly,
Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.

My tryst with Reiki goes back to the year  of 2000, when my father underwent emergency bypass surgery, which came as the biggest shock to all of us.

A cardiologist undergoing a cardiac bypass….ironic though it may seem…but such is the fate of life. With God’s grace, the surgery went well, and we thought the worst was behind us!

Depression is a very well know post CABG(Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting) disorder and my dad went through a very serious phase of depression. Our family went through a lot of tough times, with my dad not willing to come out of his depression.  To cut a long story short, my mom started investigating alternative healing techniques to try and help him get out of his depression and she learnt Reiki.

My first Reiki session
I remember coming back home from school during vacation with a bad cold which just wouldn’t get ok…my mom suggested giving me Reiki and this was the first time I ever felt this amazing energy at work..I felt much better and relaxed after the mini Reiki session!

Reiki was like a drug….I’d always want Reiki from my mom whenever I was sick..whether it was a common cold or a headache……2002 and it was time for me to pack my bags and leave on  a jet plane…I realized that I should learn Reiki for myself..to take care of myself. It was almost an implicit understanding between me and my mom that I would never appreciate the energy as much if I learnt from her as opposed to learning from a third person…after a lot of research on the internet, the newspapers( yup we read those in paper form in India to this date!!)…I decided to get initiated by Veena Daas in July 2002.

My first Reiki guru Veena Daas was a middle aged lady…I remember her being very precise as she gave me first attunement on day 1. I came home that day, gave myself self Reiki that night..Onward bound to next day and Reiki II followed…I have more vivid memories of the tasty lunch I ate those two days then I do of anything else . At the end of the 2 days, with the promise to myself and to my new guru of a daily self treatment for 21 days, I was a Reiki channel!

The 21 day Miracle:
For some reason beyond my comprehension, I was very diligent about giving myself self Reiki every day . One fine afternoon, I was just lounging about at home and I suddenly started feeling dizzy…before I knew I had lost consciousness…and when I woke up I found myself lying on a bed at the hospital with my family around me..I was told I had suffered from an epileptic seizure… I had no idea what everyone was talking about…I was surprisingly very calm(very unlike me)…the only thing I cared about was whether this would prevent me from going away to school in the USA, which was just over 4 weeks away..a battery of tests including a couple of MRI scans ensued and it was found that I had suffered from NeuroCysticercosis( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cysticercosis)…caused by eating infected vegetables on a recent trip to the wilderness of North East India. The seizure was actually caused by the death of the tapeworm….It took me a while to figure out this was the first Reiki Miracle in my life.

Life is about love..love is our true essence. I quote Marianne Williamson…”Miracles occur naturally as an expression of love”. My spiritual journey is about the relinquishment of fear, and the acceptance of love back into my heart!

It is with great joy and gratitude that I am writing to let you all know  that I will be taking my Reiki Teacher Training with William Lee Rand in Maui this coming November..I am ready .. to spread the  fabulous gift of Reiki , to spread love … I wanted to share this great news, thank and ask ya’ll to wish me luck, give me your blessings, and hey send me Reiki too!
